For my 30th Birthday I wanted to do something special and close to my heart. I love animals and decided I wanted to swim with Wild Dolphins as I do not support captive dolphin attractions.
I booked with Geoffrey at Dolphin Expeditions. I met him and his lovely crew on June 30th. This was my first time travelling alone and I was really nervous but things honestly could not have went better.
Geoffrey, Jerry and Mimmi wasted no time getting started when I arrived. They showed me around the boat and we left the dock. Jerry was very nice and would tell me stories about his diving and treasure hunting experiences. Mimmi who was an old guest was the chef on board. She made great meals and an awesome Arnold Palmer!
To my surprise and delight, I was the first and only guest fort his season! Even though I was alone they crew made me feel otherwise. They were always checking up and talking with me. It felt like we were a family on a vacation.
Even though the company is called Dolphin Expeditions we did so much more than swim with Dolphins! We stopped at Bimini briefly and I got to walk around a little. We went snorkeling around reefs and we even fed stingray! Geoffrey was very strict about safety and even though I am okay with swimming he still went over my technique - he even showed me how to free dive!
I spent 2 days seeing and swimming with dolphins. Geoffrey and Jerry are very particular when it came to diving in with the dolphins. It was never a chase, it was always a relaxed atmosphere and without fail the dolphins always came towards the boat and stayed around for hours.
For anyone looking at swimming with wild dolphins either solo, with friends or with their family, I highly recommend Dolphin Expeditions!
